Bootstrap "Lake Surfer™" for Jazzmaster®

Five hundred miles from saltwater on Ohio's northern shore is the last place you'd expect to find a dedicated surfing community. Every year though, when the weather is just right, the swells come rolling into the shores of Lake Erie, and a few enthusiastic souls grab their boards. The perfect conditions can happen anytime, even in the freezing dead of winter, but that's not a problem: The lake surfers just grab their wetsuits.

Our Lake Surfer™ set for Jazzmaster® is a bit of an offbeat take on the classic tone. They've got the big, full, classic tone you expect, but with a bit more clarity, brightness and a dash more sparkle. This makes for a pup set that's versatile enough for a rock or blues workhorse, but ready to deliver that iconic surf tone when the conditions are just right and it's time to hit the waves.

Under the Hood:

• Vulcanized fiber bobbins
• 42 AWG enameled copper wire
  
• ALNICO 5 poles
• Vintage push-back cloth leads for easy wiring
• Lightly potted in paraffin and beeswax
• Light scatterwind for clarity
• ~7.8kOhm Neck, 9.5kOhm Bridge*

*Please note that resistance values are approximate and may vary due to a number of factors including actual wire thickness, wire tension, ambient temperature as well as differences between multimeters. We accept a tolerance of +/-10% K Ohms. Bootstrap Pickups winds to a a set wind count, not resistance.

We use either all-black vulcanized fiber bobbins or gray vulcanized fiber bobbins depending on material availability. If you have a preference for either bobbin cover, please leave a note at checkout and we are happy to accommodate.
